Born: London 1957 I lived in Docklands before it was fashionable and wanted to be an illustrator from an early age. Attended: Medway College of Art and design 1976-77                   Bath Academy of Art 1977-80

	Bath Academy, especially, gave me the time and space to learn to draw I later taught at Bath, and also at Southampton Art College, for a while. After graduating I was clueless about making a living, but began to find work in magazines and, eventually, children’s books. I’ve never had a proper job. I now live in an old house in the country with my wife and two daughters: Jenny, Charlotte and Lilly.
