Born London 1957



I lived in Docklands before it was fashionable and wanted to be an illustrator from an early age.



Attended: Medway College of Art and Design 1976 - 77

                Bath Academy of Art 1977 - 80

Bath Academy, especially, gave me the time and space to learn to draw.



I later taught at Bath and also at Southampton College of Higher Education for a while.



After graduating I was clueless about making a living but began to find work in magazines and, eventually, children's books.



I've never had a proper job, but I've illustrated everything from nursery rhymes to war poems and the best day is still one where I have only to draw.
